Actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry was at the Emagine Theater in Royal Oak on Wednesday night for the premiere of "Boo! a Madea Halloween."
"I love the people of Detroit, He tells WXYZ's Brad Galli. "They’re real, they tell you the truth. They don’t like it, they tell you they don't like it. And if they love it, they tell you they love it."
"Detroit has always been good to me," Perry said, adding. "just from all the years at the Fisher or the Fox Theatre, playing the live shows, I just want to give a little bit back."
He's screening the movie in select cities.
