Brian Maurice Brown

Brian Maurice Brown calls himself "a hood hero."
"Fresh Out -- Life After The Penitentiary," a YouTube show that focuses on life after prison, has a three-part mini-series (below) about Brian Maurice Brown, a Detroit music mogul also known as "Peanut" and "Mr. BMB."
Brown was a big-time Detroit drug trafficker who was released in 2010 after 10 years behind bars. He's chief executive of BMB Entertainment and prominent indie recording label BMB Records, which has produced such hip-hop notables as Trick-Trick.
He has a pending charge in federal court -- felon in possession of a gun. In March 2017, Robert Snell of The Detroit News, citing sealed court records, reported that the feds believe Brown was still dealing heroin and using his rap label to launder drug money.
Brown insists he's gone totally legit. He's credited as co-author of a self-published 2017 book, "Living for the Sacrifice | A Hood Hero's Guide to Success."
