Station WADL, TV 38 of Clinton Township, which airs such shows as "House of Payne,""Seinfeld" and "Everybody Loves Raymond," could be history next year.
Bill Shea of Crain's Detroit Business writes that station owner Kevin Adell says that "he will participate in the Federal Communication Commission's auction next year in which TV stations will sell their shares of the coveted UHF over-the-air broadcast spectrum to mobile wireless providers that need more airwaves bandwidth to satisfy customer demand."
Crain's reports that he could get $170 million for WADL's portion of the local UHF airwaves.
Crian's reports that Adell would probably shut the station down three months after the auction sale is finalized.
