The Wayne County Commission was supposed to review the deal between the County Executive and Dan Gilbert's organization for the half-completed jail today. They were going to do that because last week deputy County Executive Jeff Collins asked them to sign off on the agreement by today. One problem. The deal isn't, you know, finished.
Detroit Free Press: June West, Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano’s spokeswoman, said the holdup was that the specifics are still being worked out with Rock Ventures.
“It’s dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s for the memorandum of understanding,” she said. “We’ve kept the commission informed through the process.”
That's a fancy way of saying the agreement hasn't been completed yet. Fail jail never stops failing.
