A truck rented by the Secret Service carrying equipment for Vice President Joe Biden's trip to the city's Labor Day parade on Monday was stolen outside the Westin Book Cadillac, the Detroit News reports.

Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said late Sunday the U-Haul truck was stolen late Saturday or early Sunday. He said the truck carried Secret Service property, but no weapons that could have put the public at risk.

Donovan declined to say what property was stolen or the value.

Donovan said the theft "will not affect the visit."
