Jim Schaefer reports in the Free Press that shortly after it became clear he was going to prison Monday, former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick pulled his hand out of his pocket and put a plastic bag or plastic wrap on the defendants' table in federal court.
Then he picked something out of it and appeared to almost furtively pop whatever it was into his mouth.
The move reported earlier on Freep.com, led to much speculation. What was it? Some kind of pill, or maybe a breath strip?
