Mayor Dave Bing
It's fair to say the consensus was that Dave Bing was a nice guy, but not the best politician. Things weren't going to well in Detroit when Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr took over.
Still, at that time, he mentioned that he he still had some political aspirations. Perhaps those were real, or perhaps they were uttered publicly so as to still feel relevant.
Well, whatever it is, he apparently intends to make some kind of announcement on Wednesday.
In a tweet, he wrote:
Hello Detroit, its been a while. Stay tuned for announcement going tomorrow. #Detroit
