When will the much anticipated Gateway Marketplace development open at 8 and Woodward in Detroit?

You know, the one with Meijer and Marshalls and a K & G Superstore.

The opening was originally set for May 31. Now, the development's website says late summer 2013.

Curbed Detroit is a little skeptical:

Having successfully courted a mix of big-box retail and smaller chains, we originally though of the Gateway Marketplace development as the successful counterpoint to the State Fairgrounds buffoonery going on next door. Now we're not so sure. Developer REDICO originally declared Gateway Marketplace ("The first major retail development and national grocer within Detroit in over two decades!") would be open by May 31. Gateway's website now reads "Late summer 2013," which — in case you don't speak developer — means "We'll get back to you."

The cherry on top? Eminem is being asked to appear at some sort of a "celebration" the shopping center is hosting on the 10th anniversary of the film 8 Mile. Because the shopping center is on 8 Mile. Get it?
