Cabrera hugs wife after getting 3,000 hit in 2022
Rosangel Cabrera first filed for divorce from her husband, Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera, in 2017 but changed her mind shortly afterward and withdrew the filing.
Now, eight years later, after filing a second time, the divorce has been finalized, TMZ reports.
TMZ reports that Rosangel stated in court filings that the marriage was "irretrievably broken," and on June 18, a judge finalized the divorce.
The two were married in 2002.
Cabrera's highly publicized affair with Belkis Rodriguez surfaced in 2017, the same year his wife initially filed for divorce.
At the time, his former mistress was seeking additional financial support from Cabrera, claiming that her two children were fathered by the Tigers star.
Cabrera, 42, retired as a player at the end of the 2023 season. He is currently a special assistant working with the Tigers' front office.
