It sounds like a scene out of Gunsmoke or some other western TV show.

A customer at Citizens Bank near 9 Mile and Van Dyke roads shot and wounded a robber Monday afternoon, Mara MacDonald of WDIV reports. The station says the robber has non-life threatening wounds.

WDIV reports that the robber, 43, walked into the bank,  announced a hold-up and  got cash from the teller. At some point, the customer opened fire and shot the robber multiple times.

The wounded robber fled the bank on foot but didn't make it very far. He was found lying on the ground bleeding, WDIV reported.

Fox 2 reports that the customer has a concealed weapons permit.
