Will Outfielder Anthony Gose End Up As a Pitcher?

Centerfielder Anthony Gose was cut from the main Tigers team on Sunday, but he may return one day as a pitcher.

For now, he's headed to the minors.

“He’s going to go down and play some outfield,” Ausmus says, according to George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press.  “He came back to us with an idea we had talked about internally at the end of last season. He’s going to actually throw a couple bullpens here and there. He was a guy who threw in the mid-90s in high school. He’s still going to keep playing centerfield, don’t get me wrong. But we’re going to try it out and see what happens. He came to us with it afterward.”
