Sunday in the Motor City was full of hockey love. Fans and players and coaches, both former and current, said so long to Joe Louis Arena on Sunday after the Red Wings played their final home game there, beating the New Jersey Devils 4-1.

On Saturday, the Wings didn't do as well, losing to the Montreal Canadians 3-2 in overtime.

Henrik Zetterberg played his1,000th career NHL game Sunday reports Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News.

“I couldn’t have picked a better game to have my 1,000th. A special night in many ways," Zetterberg said. 

After the game, during a ceremony on the ice, some of the Red Wings' legends spoke including former team captain Steve Yzerman and and former Coach Scotty Bowman.
