One of the odder stories of the Covid-19 pandemic emerged in September, when it was revealed that the U.S. Postal Service had a plan in April to mail masks, 650 million of them, to households across the country to help curb the spread of coronavirus. That was nixed by the White House, however, who thought it might "spark concern or panic" in the U.S. population.

The City of Dearborn, faced with rising Covid case numbers, is taking its cue from the post office. The city is distributing 10 washable face masks to every household in hopes of slowing the spread.
On Friday, Dearborn Police and Fire departments started delivering the washable masks to make sure every household has them. (Police chief Ron) Haddad said early recipients will be vulnerable populations, like the elderly.
"We’ve also partnered up with the health department to determine which areas in our zip codes have the highest are of COVID infected reports," Haddad said.
The masks are left on doorsteps, with bulletins in three languages.
