Because only government bureaucrats (i.e. law enforcement officers) are allowed to carry guns in county jails, people in jail are sitting ducks for virtually any crazed gunman or tyrannical government plot. Thankfully one inmate in the Macomb County Jail had the courage and good sense to challenge the insanity of our jails as free-fire zone policy.
An inmate attempted to smuggle an airsoft gun into the jail, reportedly by hiding it in her underwear. She was thwarted by the Macomb CoUNty Sheriff's department.
Macomb Daily: “We did have an incident, it was an airsoft gun, not a real gun,” [Sheriff Anthony] Wickersham said. “We’re trying to find out how it got in there.”
An airsoft pistol is non-lethal but does fire plastic pellets. The replica weapons are used almost solely for recreational purposes.
