Fallout over budget cuts to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office may get worse, Elisha Anderson reports in the Free Press.

“We do not have prosecutors in all our circuit court courtrooms,” Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said during a news conference today. “And pretty soon we’re going to be forced with having to choose which cases we can prosecute at all. I’m talking felony cases now.”

Since Monday, Wayne County prosecutors haven’t been in some courtrooms in 36th District Court in Detroit, including criminal traffic and misdemeanor cases prompting judges to adjourn or dismiss cases. And today, they also didn’t go to personal protection order cases in Wayne Circuit Court because of cuts to her staff, Worthy said.
