With shears and hedge trimmers in hand, city landscapers responded promptly to whimsical Windsor park vandalism that was too clever to tolerate.

Windsor Star writer Trevor Wilhelm, feeling friskily playfiul himself, has a bit of fun as he reports on this week's situation::

Some cocky vandals have aroused the attention of city officials with a not-so-subtle alteration to the riverfront sculpture garden.

Workers were quickly ordered into action this week after the city learned someone had trimmed a bush to look like a giant penis.

John Miceli, executive director of parks and facilities, tells the reporter city workers did additional trimming:

“We believe that some people would find it offensive,. Although we support public art, we didn’t support the sculpting of that piece of art.”

The official has grudging respect for the prankster, though:

“Whoever did the shaping was pretty proficient at shaping bushes.”
