Justin Verlander raised his record to 4-1 Sunday as the Tigers defeated the Oakland A's, 3-1, to split the four-game series in Oakland.

Austin Jackson walked with the bases loaded in the sixth inning to score the winning run. The Tigers returned to a .500 record as they move on to Chicago for a series with the White Sox.
