A 16-month-old girl drowned Sunday after falling into a retention pond near N. Squirrel Road in the Oakland Estates mobile home park in Auburn Hills, WXYZ reports.
The baby apparently wandered into the retention pond that was close to home around 1:30 p.m., reports Kimberly Craig of WXYZ. The family found her and tried to use life-saving techniques.
She was taken St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac where she was pronounced dead.
