
Downtown Detroit Tree Lighting And Christmas Wonderfest
Downtown Detroit's giant Norway Spruce tree was plugged in Friday night during a massive Campus Martius shindig.
Get in the holiday spirit this weekend with skating and a view of the tree from Fountain Bistro over plates and glasses. Wander up Woodward while you're there and check out the new retail and pop-ups.

See The Zoo Sparkle
The Detroit Zoo is also getting in on the light festivities this weekend. Wild Lights packs 2 million lights into a half mile chunk of the zoo for very bright holiday fun.

Hugh's Birthday Party
Formerly a pop-up shop, Hugh is celebrating one year in its permanent location on Cass Ave. in Midtown. The bachelor-esque home furnishings and knick knack store had a birthday bash Saturday with "champagne cocktails, pre-holiday shopping and general revelry."

"Detroit 1968" Book Release
Enrico Natali's incredible photographs will be featured during a book release party at MOCAD. "Detroit 1968" showcases photographs that Lee DeVito of the Metro Times said show "a middle-class utopia whose residents are enjoying the American Dream."

"It's A Wonderful Life" At The Redford Theater
It may be a little early to go full-blown holiday cheer, but "It's A Wondeful Life" is worth it. The holiday classic played Saturday at the historic Redford Theater.
