Hunter, the 3-month-old puppy, has earned his way into the hearts of the McLarty family of Grosse Pointe Woods for life.
Fox 2 reports that Hunter, a husky mix wouldn't stop whining in the middle of the night last week. The McLartys have three children.
Jill McCarty, the mom of the house, let the dog outside when he was whining, Fox 2 reports. After that, he kept whining and took McCarty to the stove.
She then noticed the gas burner was on low, without a flame. Gas was leaking out, and apparently had been since dinner six hours before.
It could have turned out a lot different.
