After initially denying wrongdoing, former Detroit Deputy Police Chief Celia Washington is expected to plead guilty next week, court records show, according to Robert Snell of The Detroit News.
Washington was suspected of pocketing a $3,000 bribe from Detroit towing titan Gasper Fiore, then lying to the FBI and failing a polygraph exam.
Washington would become the 14th person convicted in a wide-ranging corruption scandal that started in Macomb County and spread to Detroit.
"She knows she made a mistake and Ms. Washington wants to put this behind her," says her attorney, Arnold Reed.
