
In 1988, the owner of the Pistons figured it was the right thing to do when the team moved into The Palace in Auburn Hills to serve its suburban fans.
Now, Detroit appears to be the place to be the place, and the Pistons organization is recognizing that.
Pistons owner Tom Gores has just hired agent Arn Tellem las vice chairman of Palace Sports and Entertainment, and one of the big projects is to explore a move to Detroit, Terry Foster writes in The Detroit News.
Gores has two viable options, the sports columnist says:
- Move into the new Red Wings arena, slated to open in 2017.
- Tear down the half-built Wayne County Jail and build an arena with Quicken Loans chairman Dan Gilbert.
