Anthony Marrocco
Just recently the Macomb Daily reported that the FBI is investigating the Macomb County Public Works during the years Anthony Marrocco headed up the department.
Now comes this audit that raises more questions about his tenure, which ended last year when he was defeated in his bid for re-election.
Norb Franz of The acomb Daily reports:
Macomb County Public Works ex-boss Anthony Marrocco approved $8.3 million in attorney fees during his last three years in office without outside oversight including some “ill advised” court actions, nearly all of which drove up sewer rates in 11 communities, according to a stinging audit report.
The independent audit and hundreds of pages of legal billings, obtained by The Macomb Daily through a Freedom of Information Act request, detail the legal fees that were charged by six law firms, and paid by Marrocco via the Macomb Interceptor Drain Drainage District from 2013 to 2016.
Those costs caused a 15 percent increase in the sewer charges to the district’s nearly one dozen communities.
