Recently, bullying has been a big issue. With good reason. Cracking down on behavior that leaves vulnerable young people afraid to go to school is unacceptable.
Unfortunately, as anti-bullying campaigns have become a popular cause, pretty much every charlatan now claims that any cross thing said about them is an act of bullying.
Consider rustic bigot Terry Jones. He's convinced that Muslim students are bullying non-Muslim students at Dearborn high schools. His only evidence appears to be that Muslim students are Muslims, but we can't let facts get in the way of a specious claim of bullying.
Jones stood outside Edsel Ford High School yesterday to protest against bullying and called for students concerned about the issue to stage a walk-out and join his protest.
As anyone familiar with the Donna Martin Graduates episode of Beverly Hills 90210 can attest, students will gladly skip school on almost any pretense of righteous indignation. However, the Free Press reports, no one cut class to join Terry Jones' anti-bullying protest.
That's a lesson: Algebra 2, gym class > Terry Jones' horseshit. -- JTW
