While Michigan Gov. Brian Calley has withdrawn his support of Donald Trump, and asked that he resign, two key state politicians are still supporting him.

Attorney General Bill Schuette and state GOP Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel  back him while condemning sexual remarks he made 11 years ago, Chad Livengood and Michael Gerstein of The Detroit News report. 

“I’m not going to give Hillary Clinton the master key to the United States Supreme Court,” Schuette tells the paper. 

“I thought it was important to denounce the comments on the tape as a stand-alone comment,” McDaniel said in a Monday interview with the News. “I can’t defend it.”

“We win on the issues,” McDaniel says, adding that while both candidates are flawed, “you have to look at what are the policy and proposals they’re putting forward, especially the Supreme Court, which is a generational choice.”
