Some Bangladeshi immigrants who live in Detroit near the Hamtramck border are concerned about a crime spike.
Last weekend, members of the Bangladeshi-American community protested in Detroit off Conant south of Davison, chanting, "Stop violence" and "Enough is enough,' reports Niraj Warikoo of the Detroit Free Press.
Residents want city officials and police to address what they see as an increase in robberies, carjackings and shootings this year.
On Oct. 17, a Bangladeshi father of two, Saleh Ahmed, was shot several times on his porch on Klinger Street at about 6 a.m. after he answered the door. He remains hospitalized, the Freep reports.
