Robert Ficano

Robert FIcano lost his re-election bid for Wayne County Executive in 2014 after his political fortunes crumbled as a result of a series of corruption scandals in his administration. Now, he's working on a political comeback.

Ficano garnered enough votes in Tuesday's primary to move on to the general election in a bid to become a Wayne County Circuit Court judge. The top eight vote-getters in the race will be on Nov. 8 ballots. Ficano came in sixth with 25,031 votes.

He was one of 21 candidates.

Ficano is backed by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan.
