The number of Covid patients in Michigan hospitals declined over the weekend, though more than 4,500 adults and 61 pediatric cases are being treated today.
That's 183 fewer men and women than were hospitalized Friday with Covid diagnoses or symptoms, a dip of nearly 4%, state data shows.

In six Southeast Michigan counties, however, confirmed and suspected adult coronavirus patients rose by 83 over the weekend to 2,418. Two major hospital networks -- Beaumont and Henry Ford -- each have more pandemic cases than three days ago.
Beaumont's eight hospitals in Metro Detroit report 667 Covid patients Monday, including 108 in intensive care. Its Wayne facility was at capacity, with 34 Covid patients filling one-third of the beds.
Henry Ford lists 597 patients with the lung virus, 135 of whom are in ICU status at the group's five hospitals.
Exactly three weeks earlier on Nov. 22 at the start of Thanksgiving week, Ford's network had 434 Covid patients (37% fewer) and Beaumont had 562 overall (19% fewer).
Statewide, the number of hospitalized adults with coronavirus rose 15% in the past three weeks.
Here are suspected and confirmed Covid patients currently at Southeast Michigan hospitals:
♦ Wayne, Washtenaw and Monroe: 1,248 adults, 28 pediatric patients | 264 in ICUs
♦ Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair: 1,170 adults, 11 pediatric cases | 177 in ICUs
All figures are from Michigan Department of Public Health tables updated Monday afternoon.
