Fox2 reports that a Macomb County mother says the Macomb County prosecutors office has indicated that if her teen daughter pursues statutory rapes charges against a 20-year-old man, the teen could face child pornography charges for sexting explicit photos to him.
The mother, whose identity was not revealed by Fox2, claims she went to prosecutors to pursue rape charges after learning of the affair with the man who was a family friend. The daughter is now 15.
"At 14, according to the law, she cannot consent to sex," the mother told Fox2. "So what makes us think that she can consent to sending him sexual photos?"
