Two-year-old Damian Sutton has died from injuries suffered while being baby-sat last week, Children’s Hospital of Michigan tells the Detroit News.

Damian, of Washington Township, had been hospitalized since Wednesday after Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call on the 8000 block of Grand Oaks Court, where they discovered evidence that Damian had suffered severe had trauma consistent with “shaken baby syndrome.”

“I can confirm that Damian Sutton has died. I have no other information available at this time.” said Vickie Dahlman-Anger, a spokeswoman for Children’s Hospital, on Tuesday morning.

Ronald Anthony Dimambro, 26, of Washington Township, has been accused of critically injuring Damian while babysitting him. Dimambro was arraigned Friday on a charge of first-degree child abuse in 42nd District Court. He is being held on $500,000 bond and faces a preliminary hearing on Tuesday. Dimambro was Damian Sutton’s mother’s new boyfriend.
