Adam Graham of The Detroit News reports that Usher, who is in town for a concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Tuesday, took a mini-tour of downtown Detroit Monday with Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert, who was his guide. They went through some of Gilbert's buildings.

Usher and Gilbert have been partners for years, The News reports. Usher is a part owner of Gilbert's NBA team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"I'm really interested in building here," the R&B singer is quoted as saying after a visit to the Detroit Institute of Music Education in Capitol Park.

Usher, 36, said he had no firm plans, but was interested in contributing to Detroit’s arts and culture scene.
