That's a whole lot of dogs.

Steve Neavling of the Motor City Muckraker writes that Detroit firefighters rescued 22 pit bulls – mostly puppies – and a Guinea pig from a burning home on Detroit's east side on Monday morning.

The website reports that that firefighters responded to a fire at a small brick home at 214 W. Hollywood near John R. and 7 Mile at 8:10 a.m.

The owner is a dog breeder, the website reported. A city ordinance says that each home is limited to four dogs.
