Here's one of the good gangs.

The Detroit Mower Gang, a group of volunteers, is going around city parks and playgrounds, cutting grass, trimming bushes, removing weeds.

It started in 2010 with Tom Nardone, who first began cutting grass on his own before inviting friends to join him.

Now, the gang has grown to more than  60 volunteers and is taking on more and more turf,  reports WXYZ's Jennifer Ann Wilson.

This year, for the first time, the group has a sponsor, WXYZ reports.  Craftsman donated nearly $20,000 worth of equipment, enabling the gang to expand its territory beyond just parks.
