It's becoming more common to spot a QLine streetcar on Woodward Avenue downtown or in Midtown, even after dark. Test runs for the system, scheduled to begin operating in April, are under way.
"At this point, we have four cars, which is the number you need to start operations,” says Dan Lijana, a spokesman for M-1 Rail, which operates the line, told Charlie Ramirez of The Detroit News on Thursday. “All the cars are in different stages of testing. We’re going to be out a lot in the coming months.”
“So far, the testing has been on track, no pun intended,” he said. “Everything has been going smoothly. There’s no issues that would change our timetable at this point.”
