Ferndale Begins 5th Annual Outdoor Movie Nights

Free movies under the stars returns for a fifth year in downtown Ferndale.

Mike McConnell of The Oakland Press describes it as a "small drive-in theater experience without the cars."

The annual Get Reel -- Outdoor Movies on Vester Street starts its series Thursday with the 1993 coming-of-age baseball movie “The Sandlot," the Oakland Press reports. Movies will be shown the third Thursdays in July, August and September.

“This is our fifth year and it’s really taking off and getting a lot of buzz,” says Cindy Willcock of the Downtown Development Authority.
