.Eins, zwei, drei -- prosit!
No, Oktoberfest and a Munich-style beer hall aren't coming to Ferndale. Still, a new taproom there with a sprawling patio may inspire that chant of one, two, three -- cheers.
Livernois Tap opens Saturday at 567 Livernois St. with room for 175 drinkers and diners inside and at its outdoor "biergarten" with picnic-style tables, Adirondack chairs and a fire pit.

It's owned by Axle Brewing Co. of Royal Oak, which will serve 12 to 15 of its draft choices -- including some brewed in a 10-barrel system on site, Brenna Houck posts at Eater Detroit. Among varieties are an American stout, three India Pale Ales and London Strong Porter (8.4 percent alcohol). Cider and mead come later.
It's "our modern American interpretation of a classic European beer hall," the company says at its site. The sprawling Ferndale newcomer is "inspired by contemporary breweries, urban parks and our favorite places to hang," the blurb adds.
The forget-about-nutrition menu has fried bologna corn dogs, “crispy animal parts” (fried, seasoned rinds), half-chickens and fried green tomatoes. "Diners can wrap up their meal with a beer float for dessert," Houck writes.
