A family lost everything Friday night after they say someone threw an object through a back window of their home, igniting a fire that quickly spread, WXYZ-TV reports.
Crews battled the large fire on the 7700 block of La Salle Boulevard in Detroit, but fire officials say it was difficult to get a handle on the racing flames.
Several people inside the home at the time of the fire were able to make it out safely, including two adults and three children ages 6, 2 and 1.
The two sisters in the house said they were napping when they heard a crash in the bedroom right before a large fire erupted in their home. They say someone threw the object through the back window.
