The Detroit Red Wings plan a farewell weekend at The Joe when they plays the final two games at the 38-year-old arena before moving to Little Caesars Arena in the fall. The Wings play the Montreal Canadians on Saturday at 7 p.m. and the New Jersey Devils at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Current players and alumni will walk a red carpet to the east entrance at 2 p.m. Sunday, the team announces.

An hour-long post-game ceremony Sunday features speeches, question sessions and highlight videos with current players and more than 50 alumni, the team says.

Doors  open two hours before the puck drops for both games.

"We have many special events, initiatives and giveaways planned to give Red Wings fans an opportunity to make a final memory at Joe Louis Arena and take home a piece of hockey history," says Tom Wilson, head of Olympia Entertainment.

"The 'Farewell to The Joe Ceremony' will feature Red Wings legends and revisit the iconic moments that helped make The Joe one of the most revered hockey arenas in the world."

During the red carpet walk, Red Wings fans will be encouraged to line the red carpet to cheer on the team members as they enter The Joe for the final game on Sunday.

The team notes that the final game at The Joe will be the last opportunity to buy a puck used by both teams during warmups. The Red Wings logo and the New Jersey Devils logo will be featured on the puck to commemorate the final game at The Joe. Pucks will sell for $30.

On Saturday, fans will receive a mini replica of Joe Louis Arena, courtesy of Kroger and MotorCity Casino Hotel. A "Farewell to The Joe" mini-stick will be issued to fans at Sunday's game along with a certificate declaring they attended the final game.
