Mohammad Altantawi

Mohammad Altantawi, 16, of Farmington Hill, was arraigned Monday  on a second-degree murder charge involving the death of his mother, Nada Huranieh, 35.

He's accused of pushing her out of a window at their million-dollar home, Fox 2's Randy Wimbley reports. She was found dead on the patio.

His attorney argued in 47th District Court in Farmington Hills that his client be released on bond, but the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office insisted he is a danger to society.

"He committed a crime of murder in the second degree of his mother," the prosecutor said. "While the suspect's sisters ages 12 and 14 were home at the time."

The judge ordered him held at Children's Village, a juvenile detention facility in Oakland County.
