Tragedy came to Alderman Lake in Highland Township.
A father, 35, and a son, 4, fell through the ice while ice fishing just after 10:30 a.m. Monday and later died, James Dickson writesat The Detroit News.
Two fishermen in the area saw the two fall through the ice and not resurface, the paper says.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Office divers and two firefighters from Highland Township retrieved the bodies after about 10 minutes. They were pronounced dead at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Commerce Township. The sheriff tweets:
