The FBI gets quite a workout in Macomb County these days. For one, there's been the ongoing investigation into bribery and trash hauling contracts with municipalities that nets five indictments so far.
Now, this: The bureau and a federal grand jury are looking at Macomb County Public Works Department operations dating back several years, Norb Franz of The Macomb Daily reports.
Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller tells the paper at least 10 to 12 employees in her department have been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury since she took office Jan. 1, the paper reports. She defeated longtime incumbent Anthony Marrocco in 2016.
“I know they’ve been asked about both Marrocco and (former Public Works operations manager Dino) Bucci. That’s the extent of my knowledge” of questions posed to the subpoenaed workers, she says.
