Things were busy Tuesday morning along the Woodward corridor in Detroit between 6 and 8 Mile roads.
An FBI task force raided several locations along Woodward as part of a crackdown on a large-scale heroin operation controlled by what authorities describe as a brutal Detroit gang, Vicki Thomas of WWJ reports.
Teams executed nine federal search warrants and three state search warrants “to disrupt the large-scale distribution of heroin controlled by a violent, Detroit-based criminal organization in adjacent areas within the City of Detroit and Oakland County,” Paul Abbate, head of the Detroit FBI, tells WWJ
A bureau media release states:
The FBI Oakland County Gang and Violent Crime Task Force joined efforts with several federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to disrupt the large-scale distribution of heroin controlled by a violent, Detroit-based criminal organization in adjacent areas within the City of Detroit and Oakland County.
