Former Ferndale Schools Superintendent Gary Meier is gone but not forgotten.

Michael McConnell of The Oakland Press reports that the Board of Education filed a lawsuit Tuesday in Oakland County Circuit Court alleging that Meier used and diverted resources from the district to his educational consulting company while still working for the school system.

The lawsuit alleges that he diverted resources, including Meier’s time, that was equal to more than $25,000.

The paper writes:

Meier resigned from the district in May 2014, more than a month before his scheduled retirement, after Ferndale board members learned Meier’s Equity Education Management Solutions company had been working with a charter school startup in Detroit called Schools for the Future of Detroit.
