Five Deputies Charged With Beating Wayne County Inmates

Five Wayne County deputies were charged Tuesday with assaulting several inmates in the Wayne County Jail.

In each case, the alleged victims had to be taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The alleged assaults happened in the Division 1 facility at 570 Clinton.

The deputies face a slew of criminal charges, including assault with intent to do great bodily harm, common law offenses, false report of a felony, and aggravated assault.
