Pie-Sci is one of three eating spots on the show.

The Food Network’s “Ginormous Food” show features three Metro Detroit eating spots in Friday night's episode.

Host Josh Denny visited Stache International in Eastern Market at 1416 E. Fisher in Detroit to try the Big Dawg, a two-foot-long sandwich with three pounds of house-smoked bologna topped with cheese, caramelized onion and bacon, writes Detroit News food writer Melody Baetens.

The circus-themed bar and restaurant, 1416 E. Fisher in Detroit, is hosting an episode-watching party Friday evening with food and drink specials.

Denny also stopped in at Garrido’s Bistro and Pastry’s,19605 Mack Ave. in Grosse Pointe, and at Detroit's Pie-Sci pizzeria, 5163 Trumbull St.

The show's trio of choices draws derision from some local diners who feel more ginormous menu items are overlooked.

"Ever notice the outside media ignorance of most things Detroit?," says a comment at Reddit, where a thread about the episode also includes this:

"This is ridiculous. Visiting three restaurants, two that have been open less than two years, in a city with a multi-generational history of big-ass food places (even though they're not GASP featured in Eater Detroit!)"
