Tom Walsh of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Ford Motor Company Foundation is reviving a building on Bagley in Southwest Detroit and turning it into the Ford Resource and Engagement Center.
The foundation has committed $10 million to provide programs for the community services center ranging from job training and language classes to dance lessons and a Gleaners food bank hub, the business columnist writes.
"This is exactly what Bill Ford wants us to do when we talk about going out and building a better world,” Foundation President Jim Vella told the Freep. “He’s not talking about writing checks or sponsorship of events that make us feel good. It’s really about doing great work, getting our employees involved, working these partnerships.
