Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert, credited with helping in downtown Detroit's comeback, is running out of office space for his businesses, and his his plans for new buildings haven't quite come to fruition yet, the Detroit Free Press reports.

He said he may have to turn to the suburbs, Matthew Dolan and John Gallagher write in the Detroit Free Press:

"We’re out of space in downtown Detroit. We have no more office space. We’re 100% full," the Quicken Loans founder told an audience of several hundred students, professors and business executives at a University of Michigan Ross School of Business real estate forum in Ann Arbor.

In particular, Gilbert said he's mulling over where to house several hundred employees for a call center business named Rock Connections. One option, he said, would be a suburb such as Southfield.

But the business would be great for Detroit, he said, because its positions are suitable for city residents who may not have a degree. The jobs pay about $14 a hour, he said, and include benefits.
