Attorney General Bill Schuette declined to answer when asked in Flint whether Gov. Rick Snyder had been interviewed during the criminal probe into the water crisis.
He did say the the investigation was ongoing and no one is above the law.
Later Wednesday in Lansing, Snyder answered the question at a press conference, saying he had not talked to investigators.
“With respect to this investigation, I have not been questioned or interviewed at this point in time,” he said, according to The Detroit News. “Our office has been cooperating."
Schuette on Wednesday announced criminal charges against two state workers and one from Flint. More charges are ahead, he says.
As the state's top law enforcer, the attorney general could start catching grief as the investigation goes on and Snyder is not questioned. Snyder has taken some blame for the mess, but has denied doing anything criminally wrong.
