A 71-year-old grandmother was killed Saturday after being mauled by a pit bull at her home in southwest Detroit, WDIV reports.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. in the the 2000 block of Ferdinand, the station reports.. The victims was identified as Elizabeth Rivera.
The dog bit her in the neck and knocked her to the ground and continued to attack, Jermont Terry reports. A granddaughter discovered the body.
All four pit bulls in the house were taken by authorities, who are investigating to see if more than one dog was involved. Family members believe one dog was involved.
The dogs belonged to a boyfriend of someone who lives in the home, the station says.
The woman had been attacked last August by a pit bull but survived. That dog was euthanized, according to WDIV.
