A hearing for Joseph Weekley, a Detroit police officer accused of killing 7-year-old Aiyana Stanley-Jones during a police raid in 2010, has been postponed.

Joseph Weekley's hearing had been set for Friday, but the prosecutor's office says it's been rescheduled for March 21.

The hearing could have set a new trial date -- the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict in a June trial. Weekley is charged with involuntary manslaughter and careless discharge of a firearm. He maintains that his gun went off by accident.

The incident occurred while a crew from cable television station A&E was filming the officers.
